01137 Central Greenough Front Flats (Historic Hamlet Conservation Area)
Good Simple single room stone building with shingle roof, lapped boarded ceiling and double entry door with fanlight over protected by a small porch on the west side. Schooling was first carried out in 1860 in a tent near the site of the Hampton Hotel. The first school building was erected in 1861 in Company Road but was replaced in 1865 by a new building - the Central Greenough School built by William Trigg. It became a standard design for schools in the district.
