Statement of Significance

This single storey painted brick, timber and tile residence, in
the Federation Bungalow style, has cultural significance
because:
it has historical associations with Ella Leslie Davies
and Lady CockburnCampbell;
it retains the basic form and character of its style and
period and has the potential to be a representative
example of its style;
it is part of a cultural group.

Physical Description

The bungalow retains its original form, however, it has lost
its original colour scheme.

History

The place was built c.1920 by Ella Leslie Davies (of 39 View
Street), the house was actually occupied for many years by
Lady Cockburn Campbell. Somehistorical significance.

Integrity/Authenticity

The place is a textbook example of the form of a Federation
Bungalow, despite its post Great War dating, however, it has
lost the integrity of a gooddeal of its detail.
Painted wall finishes, replacement roof covering.
