This single storey painted brick, timber and tile residence, in the Federation Bungalow style, has cultural significance because: it has historical associations with Ella Leslie Davies and Lady CockburnCampbell; it retains the basic form and character of its style and period and has the potential to be a representative example of its style; it is part of a cultural group.
The bungalow retains its original form, however, it has lost its original colour scheme.
The place was built c.1920 by Ella Leslie Davies (of 39 View Street), the house was actually occupied for many years by Lady Cockburn Campbell. Somehistorical significance.
The place is a textbook example of the form of a Federation Bungalow, despite its post Great War dating, however, it has lost the integrity of a gooddeal of its detail. Painted wall finishes, replacement roof covering.
