History

Bill Duffy's grandfather built the residence for his youngest son, but there was parting of ways, and it
was instead willed to another son Federick John Duffy (Bill's Father). Frederick was the first secretary
of the Wanneroo Main Roads Board.
Duffy family were prominent people at the time. Bernard Duffy and his wife Catherine Hughes leased
acres at Swan Location 709 in 1877, the northern 20 arces of which he sold to Henry Gibbs. In 1903,
Frederick Duffy, (Bernard's son) became the first secretary of the Wanneroo Roads Board and
married daughter of Sam Cockman and grand daughter of James Cockman.
