Statement of Significance

Built around the tur of the century this building exemplifies the opulence of the architecture from the gold rush boom period.

Physical Description

A two story office building. Ground floor is of undressed stone while upper floor has a smooth rendered finish. large arched windows are in blocks of twos and threes and have elaborate window bullions. The main entry to the building is accentuated by elaborate mouldings and dressed stones over the arched doorway. Also at the corner is an attractive shingled ogee turret with ionic columns to pilasters and flase balustrading to window bases. Roof variations have produced massive gables/pediments to the street frontage
