Statement of Significance

Evidence of problems besetting adequate supply of water to Perth in 1890s, and technological achievement of building the diversion channels with manual labour and horse only.

Physical Description

Man made collecting channel, mainly earth walls (+ conc., rock) about 1 metre deep, runs some km from Munday's Brook under Canning Rd to Victoria Reservoir. About 500m from road, there is conc. sluice or weir - appears designed to control flow.
