The bulk handling bins have much historical and social significance to the town and region. They are associated with one of the main industries of the shire and represent the importance of this industry to the economic and social development of the region. They have aesthetic value, being located on the main street of the town and being of imposing stature, they are also a landmark. The bins also remain largely in tact, although have been internally adapted as a sales yard.
Curved corrugated iron walls, cut timber exterior uprights. Corrugated iron clad. Rough bush poles hand-cut rafters/bearers. Now used as venue for sheep sales. Some timbers have been replaced.
In 1940 bulk handling facilities were requested by the community.
