Part of the heritage of Cottesloe. An interesting example of Edwardian architecture in a prominent <± location near a number of other houses of heritage value in an area being considered as a precinct.
Distinctive Edwardian villa with hipped clay tiled roof with finials c 1910-5. Straight brick chimney stack with pebble dash finish at the top and small corbel and a pair of fat pots. Wide front gable over protruding front verandah/porch area. Gable behind filled with large timber boarding between pebble dash. The verandah/porch is supported by square posts with inscised detail and quarter circle fretted brackets. Interesting Art Nouveau fretwork to the verandah brackets between the pairs of posts resembling clusters of three little poppies. Verandah railing has tulips pierced out of the wide verandah support slats. The front door has an Edwardian height door with glazed lights on either sides and fan light. These are mullioned windows with pebble glass and stained glass mixture. The other windows are casement with small lights overhead. The brick on a sandstone base house sits amid trees in Grant street on Claremont Hill with views to the ocean. A rammed earth wall with tiled top delineates the boundary with the street.
