The Sole Cafe building has aesthetic. hlstoric and social cultural heritage value. Its prominent setting on a corner of Stirling Highway and Bruce Street gives it streetscape value. It is a good representative of lnter-War Art Deco design. As a cafe, it has attracted many people since i18 alteration for this purpose In the early 1990s.
Sol Cafe is a building of Inter-War Art Deco design. The cafe is on a prominent comer position on Stirling Highway. The building has a number of dements typical of an An Deco building with Penh regional influences. These include linear fenestration and a strong comer statement, allowing the building to have three dimesional depth. This two storey structure with a cantilevered verandah, was brought into prorninence by alterations to the ground floor and then operating as 'Belinda's Cafe' during the 1990s.
This building has been operating as a well known cafe/restaurant for a number of years. The 'flat') to the rear are totally independent of the proprietorship of the cafe.
