Statement of Significance

Attractive as this house is it is out of keeping with the interwar character of the rest of the streetscape. The house next door - a modern timber house also jars in what is otherwise a very attractive and ID homogenous streetscape.

Physical Description

Edwardian weatherboard cottage pre 1909 which has had Victorian lace additions. The hipped roof is of iron/zincalume with separate hipped verandah roof. The posts are turned with railings in between. The unusual feature of the house are the two projecting bays, one to west and one to south, roofed by shallow-pitched half candle-snuffer roofs. Central door with side lights on either side and above. The windows are double-hung. There have been extensive additions in a separate pavilion to the rear. There is a carport in front, pretty gardens and picket fence.

History

In 1909 Alfred Payzer owned and occupied.
