Statement of Significance

The three pairs of semi-detached collages in Rockton Rond have Significant aesthetic. historic and rarity cultural heritage value. Their buill character provides on important element to the stroetscape of Rockton Road. They also represent a period of architectural history at the tum of the century when small cottages were built 10 house families of humble origin. The cottages arc fine and rare examples of the Federation period as many homes buill on the same scale have been demolished ill this area of the City of NedLands. Other examples of significant semi-detached houses are Place No N44(b) and N44(c).

Physical Description

This semi-detached pair of collages is one of a number of architecturally significant residences in Rockton Road thai are recognised on the City of Nedlands Heritage Inveruory. Buill from brick. the features of this residence include. rendered masonry with some stone, :J bull nosed verandah and white barge decoration (this is UIOUghtto be a later addition). The roof is corrugated iron. Set back behind a picket fence and cottage garden. the single SIOfe)' cottages arc probably from humble origins consistent with many cottages that arc now lost from the vicinity.
