Social Value – Importance as a place highly valued by a community for reasons of social and cultural associations. Horseracing has been and continues to be an important leisure and social activity in the region.
Horseracing began in the Carnarvon area in 1895, racing commenced on this site around 1919. Previously camels had been raced at other sites in the district. The site remains vacant to this day.
