Physical Description

The main house is timber framed with an external wall cladding of weatherboard and roof of corrugated galvanised iron. Internally, the building has timber floors (except in the wet areas, which are concrete), the walls are mainly asbestos cement sheet clad, and most ceilings are plasterboard. The building consists of seven habitable rooms, a sleep-out, bathroom, toilet, laundry and verandah. The packing shed is constructed of bush pole uprights with weatherboard cladding on the south-west, south-east, and north-east sides, and half height formed concrete on the north-west side. The floor is concrete, and roof clad with corrugated galvanised iron. Laundry & General Purpose Shed is located approximately five metres from the south-east end of the packing shed verandah and is constructed of concrete blocks. Workers' Quarters is a single room, measuring 4.1 x 3.8 metres on the inside. The hut is clad externally with weatherboard, painted a brownish red colour, and internally with plasterboard sheeting. Machinery Shed, located near the lowest dam is a long skillion building, oriented with its principal axis parallel to the brook (north-east to south-west), and open to the south-east. It is constructed of bush poles with weatherboard cladding, and a concrete floor. Garage, located near the entrance driveway, is constructed of bush pole uprights and a timber framed gable roof. The gables and upper parts of the walls have a studwork of milled timber that is clad with weatherboard, but the lower part of the walls is built of concrete blocks. The 'Top House', at the east end of the property, is of timber frame construction with weatherboard and asbestos cement sheet external wall cladding and a corrugated galvanised iron roof.
