The Masonic Lodge has some social significance given its connection to the Masonic Order, which was established in Dongara in the early part of this century.
This simple rectangular brick building has an asbestos roof and a small breeze block porch to the east. Windows are set high, typical of Masonic Lodge buildings.
The building was constructed in the early 1970s by Jack Morgan for the Dongara Chapter of the Masonic Lodge. Part of the building was used c.1976 for a kindergarten run by Betty Boothman. Jack Morgan bult and operated the Irwin Brickworks (Place No. 120 ) and his bricks were used to construct the Shire Hall (Place No. 50). (Source: IDHS Records)
