Statement of Significance

The Day Dawn Dam has some historic significance for its association with rail transport in the district. In addition, the dam is one of the few remaining relics of the Day Dawn Townsite.

Physical Description

This large cement lined dam was built to provide water for the steam railway engines. It now provides water for road and mine construction.
