The stone residence is of local aesthetic significance as art example of a stone residence of its time and for its contribution to the streetscape and townscape.
This single storey stone house is typical of its type and period but using stone when the trend was probably towards brick or cement block. Whilst not that significant in itself, the residence is in scale with the streetscape around Chiverton House (further down hill to north and on opposite side), and adds to the townscape and the palette of Northampton's stone houses from various periods.
