The building is significant on the following grounds: 1) Originally the home of prominent resident Lou Cullen 2) Used as convent and original convent school by Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions from 1918. 3) Later used as classroom when the new convent was built and school enlarged. 4) TAFE carpark/garden now on the site.
