The Masonic Hall is the only surviving purpose-built lodge in the shire. Its good condition and pleasing design give the hall aesthetic value. Some of the heritage value has been compromised by the relocation, although the hall has remained intact and in good condition and is still used for its original purpose. The relocation of the hall to Mundijong is representative of the growth and stability of the Mundijong locality as opposed to Jarrahdale.
A timber weatherboard clad building with a steeply pitched gable roof of corrugated iron reminiscent of Federation Carpenter Gothic style. There is a gabled entry porch with the Masonic symbol under the projecting gable, and double timbe- front door. The windows are small and located up under the eaves - in line with the privacy required by Masonic institutions. There is a skillion rear section to the building, also in timber weatherboard, and an extension onto this of cement sheeting.
In March 1901, Jarradale 49 was consecrated at Jarrahdale and its new lodge hall, constructed on the corner of Jarrahdale Road and Berwick Street, was completed in June the same year. Prior to this, the meetings were held in the Jarrahdale courthouse. In 1944, the members decided to relocate the hall to Mundijong. However, difficulties connected with the sale of the Jarrahdale property and acquisition of a suitable site in Mundijong so the relocation was stalled for some years. In the interim, meetings had to be held in the Memorial Hall at Jarrahdale and also at Armadale. In 1947, the hall was finally moved to its new location. The relocation and re-erection costs came to £550. A lighting plant was installed to replace the original kerosene lamps. The first meeting to be held in the relocated hall was on 22 December 1947. For a number of years, the Rebecca Lodge for women operated in the hall. In 1998, the hall was refurbished as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the first Jarrahdale meeting at Mundijong.
