The ruins are significant for the associations with Byrne and Williams who are the first known settlers in Wannamal.

History

In 1870, James Byrne and John Williams took a pastoral lease over land at Eatha Spring. The area became Location 850 in 1886. They grew vegetables, vines and fruit. Byrne and Williams are the first known settlers in Wannamal.
