The place demonstrates ways of life associated with bakeries and commercial activities.
The bakery is a brick structure with a gabled corrugated iron roof. The interior ceiling is lined with ripple iron sheets and the dado wall is clad with veritcal profile ripple iron. The oven and fire box have been retained insitu.
The place was built for Geo Falconer and his family. He was a tailor with the shop front for business. Falconer employed two people in his business and served on the local Roads Board. The Basdens may have served bread from here at a later date. Other bakers also used this bakehouse and gave service over the counter in Johnston Street. The Eels served school lunches. The Nancarrows ran the bakery in the 1950's.
