The place represents significant associations with the communities in Boyanup which form the Uniting Church.
Red faced brick construction with tiled gable roof. Timber framed and clad with asbestos sheeting above weatherboard dado wall. The roof is gabled with vertical profile asbestos gable infill. A skillion extension is located on the south rear corner.
A meeting of Methodists with Reverend Cook in November 1953 decided to request Synod permission to erect a church and hall. The Boyanup Methodist congregation raised funds to build their church by knocking on doors for donations. The construction was done by bricklayers during their annual holidays, with local church men doing the labour. On 10th march 1955, the foundation stone was laid. The church was officially opened on 30th June 1956, and dedicated by the President of WA Methodist Conference, Reverend Samuel Slater, with Reverend Don Carter s the incumbent Minister. In 1960, construction of the hall began, and it was completed in 1962.It was the functions venue and for Sunday School. In 1970, the Donnybrook Parish of which Boyanup was a part, was amalgamated into the Bunbury parish. In June 1977, the Congregational, Presbyterian and Methodist churches combined Australia wide to become the 'Uniting Church'. After closing for a year, the church is now open monthly for service.
