Statement of Significance
This building replaces the previous municipal offices build on the same site in 1965. After various additions had been made to the original construction, it was decided to demolish the old building in 1990, and the new Shire Offices have been built on the same sire. The Shire Council Administration Centre attracts local people for a number of purposes, and the imposing building is an assest to the community.
Physical Description
Set in a prominent position in Windich Street, the new Esperance Shire Council Offices were built in 1990- 1992 at a cost 0[$2.1 million. The building is constructed of light facebrick with large windows all round the building. The metal decked roof is a relatively flat structure, so that is is hardly visible above the wall line. Set in the midst of landscaped gardens and lawns, the building is a focal point for the local community.
