Statement of Significance

Part of the heritage of Cottesloe. An interesting example of the prominent architectural style in an ^
attractive location near a number of other houses of heritage value in an area being considered as a »
precinct.

Physical Description

An Edwardian "Queene Anne" bungalow c 1905-20 with a multi-hipped roof covered in dark brown
terracotta tiles. Tiny front gablet over a diagonal bay window. This gablet is almost free-standing
balanced on the ridgecapping. The three light bay window with smaller lights above is leadlight glass
with rectangular leaded panes for the lower section and stained glass for the upper. The verandah is z
shaped with railings to the two sections near the steps where the fall is so high as to need it. These are
square section supports to a curved balustrade. Tuck-pointed red brick walls have a cream stucco string
course at the window sill height. The sills of the front rooms are corbelled. The verandah posts are
chamfered and insised with a slightly curved board for a frieze. The chimney stacks are tall and brick with
a pebble dash section between two corbels finished with plump pots. The house is in fairly original
condition except for the rear where there have been extensions in the early 1990s.
