Statement of Significance

Early settlement and decline of small townsites.

History

Begun as a temporary Townsite with requests for permanancy made as early as 1910. The Townsite lots were surveyed and Gazetted on 26th May 1911. The lots were thrown open in 1913 but by 1930 only four had been sold. It was not a residential town but did have a school, Co-Operative and an Agricultural Hall. The railway siding became the site for the CBH Bin c1933, demolished 1959 and replaced with a new bin also demolished in 1985. Very little left of the Townsite, a few piles of rubble and a derelict station platform and sign on the railway. The school site is marked.
