The place has associations with Ellis and the first power supply for Wongan Hills. It is an important element in the townscape and character of Wongan Hills.
Brick and rendered office/shop frontage with a parapet to the street frontages. The corrugated iron roof is hipped at the front and adjoins the gable wall of the warehouse. The frontage is truncated across the street corner and has a gabled portico across the truncation, which is the shop front and entry. The warehouse is a timber framed and corrugated iron clad structure with a gable roof.
In 1928, Mr Ellis introduced power to Wongan Hills, and operated the first power house from this site. A blacksmith also operated from the rear of the site. Ellis was the first to show picture at the Agricultural Hall, once a week from 1928. Vic Basham who ran the drive-in for many years, and still runs pictures at the Civic Centre, also still operates a business on this premises.
