The site represents associations with a way of life no longer
practiced, occupations and identities.
The site is also referred to as Harriwilley's Hill
due to Harry Willey from Beverley holding grazing leases over the area. Harrey Willey was an uncle
of Sam Willey who was one of the first to make sandalwood tracks in the area in 1870. The
sandalwood continued as late as 1920s and 1930s in the Kondinin area, under licence. The well
is located on a reserve and was put down by a boring party under the charge of D Tolleton. At
Tolleton's campsite he built a small holding dam of rocks, and it is believed to be still there.
