The place is significant for the following values:
Social Value: The memorial has social significance for the local community as a
commemoration of local soldiers who died in the first and second World
Wars.
An obelesque type tablet is housed on three black steps set between two flagpoles in front of a rectangular brick paving in which are written the words "Lest We Forget." On either side are two strip rows of hedges. The central memorial has a list of names of the locals who sacrificed their lives in the both World War I and II.
The memorial commemorates and names those soldiers who died in the first
and second World Wars. The Rev. Father O'Mahony consecrated it in 1960.
