The site represents associations with a 'mission' in the Newdegate area, and a way of life no longer practised.
In 1965 Cecil Hodgson, the church of England minister, established the Mission farm. The first two aboriginal boys to arrive were Max Willock and Bazil Maher.
Max died in a car accident, and Bazil married and settled with a family. His son Jason was tragically killed in a hot water explosion at a football club.
The Mission Farm was sold to local farmers.
