The place is significant for the following values:

Historic Value: The post office has historic significance for its association with Mrs Mary Holland who managed the business from 1905 until 1953.

Physical Description

The single storey brick residence and post office was built in 1895. Much of the original form and roof is still in tact consisting of a single lip, single chimney and rear wing. The front facade verandahs appear to have been re-built reflecting earlier design.

History

The post office was originally built in 1895. Renovations were carried out in
1991. Mrs Mary Holland became postmistress at the age of 17 in 1905 and
managed the office for approximately 48 years.
