Recognition of the site. No specific regulations would be imposed, except in the case where the site is within the bounds of a precinct, in which case the precinct category would take precedence. While the Shire recognises the value of the site, it would be a community and/or Shire responsibility to mark the site, as appropriate in future development, recognition or interpretation.

Statement of Significance

The site represents a way of life no longer practised. It demonstrates an association with the early settlers.

History

With the construction of the second rabbit proof fence in 1905, men came into the area to work, east of the rabbit proof fence was considered to be very remote. This settlement developed on the west side of the fence, and all the traffic eastwards passed through. Wogolin was one days travel distance to Wickepin. After the railway went through Dudinin, east of the fence in 1914, the fence-line focus moved to Dudinin which progressed to the detriment of Wogolin.
