Physical Description

Red brick construction with a low pitch tile roof. Some additions in 1995.

History

In July 1930, the Miling branch of the CWA was formed. The CWA met in the Miling Hall, fundraising for their own rooms by catering for lunches and teas at sales and other events. In 1944, they acquired the former butcher's shop run by Mr Newnhams. In 1945 when Dr Starke from Dalwalllinu made weekly visits to Miling, the CWA made their rest rooms avaliable. When the travelling Infant Health Centre was established in 1946, with the centre of operations in Miling, the CWA rooms were avaliable for consultations until the Infant Health built their own rooms in 1955. The CWA continued to operate from that place until their rooms were constructed in 1960.
The rest rooms were opened in 1960, were part financed by the Wheat Board and the Miling Community Advancement Group.
