The Three Springs Primary School has local significance for its role in the education of the children of the Three Springs district. Further the original section is representative of country school construction style pre World War I.
The Three Springs Primary School is an L-shaped building, the old brick section runs east to west and is located to the south of the new addition which is sympathetic in its design and use of materials. The old section has a hip roof and verandah to the north adjoining four classrooms with large double hung timber windows. Internally there is fireplace to south of each classroom the new section has a central breezeway enhanced by a gable and is surrounded by verandahs which are supported on timber posts.
The original Kadathinni school was completed and opened on 02/11/1908. The builder was M. McKesy and the contract price for the school and teacher's quarters was £99. Miss Dagmar Koch was the first teacher. (Source: History of Three Springs p. 5,6) The new section of the school was built in two sections, stage 1 about 1980, stage 2, 1993.
