History

Although the former Miling Reserve School reopened as the Miling State School in 1934 after controversy regarding it's location, it closed again in 1936 after the Education Department had started a school in the Miling Hall in 1934. Land was obtained from Mssrs Hardwick and lamb and the school building from the Resere was relocated at the site.
In 1945, the Miling Siding School was renamed the Miling State School. The numbers of students increased, with the introduction of school buses and subsequent closure of the Round Hill and Creslow (Nardy)Schools. In 1948, the Round Hill School building was relocated to this site. In 1953, the Nardy School was relocated to this school as well. However by 1964, it was necessary to construct a new school facility to accommodate the 72 students. The former school buildings were relocated to the Moora native reserve as a venue for adult education classes and a kindergarten.
