The Newdegate Hotel demonstrates a continuity of use, and associations with pioneers of the district, and subsequent generations. The place is an integral element in the main street streetscape and townscape character of Newdegate.
Two storey with top floors verandahs along the street front. Brick construction with a corrugated iron roof. c1980s extensions have infilled much of the ground floor level colonnade under the verandah. Timber structure at the rear - former stables, staff accommodation.
An application was made to the Southern Cross licensing court, to transfer the Yellowdine licence to Newdegate. The application was granted on 12 April 1926, and work commenced on the Newdegate Hotel. CR Heppington was the owner.
