The bush church represents a way of life and religious customs of the early settlers. It demonstrates an association with early pioneers of the district.
The shell of the church remains with the roof intact. There are no doors and
windows in place, only openings. The walls are constructed of formed concrete.
The Mount Stirling settlers had strong Scottish links and a Presbyterian service was held in a home whenever the Minister visited from Kellerberrin. With no money and a need for a church, in 1931, the community built a church. Granted a block of land, bush timber, tee trees, hessian lining were all constructed into the church which served the community for many years until it burned down. A cement church was built, but was subsequently destroyed by vandals. The remains are evident
