The site and place have significant associations with the Tucker family.
Limestone construction. Double hipped roof. Surrounding verandahs.
In 1901, the Government land purchase board recommended that the northern part of Stirling's Location 41 was unsuitable for agricultural development. The subdivision of 14 acre allotments duly proceeded, and Fred Tucker took up one of the lots. Fred's father William Tucker, was a stonemason, and he built the original house, which is no longer in evidence, just down the river form the existing house. Fred Tucker married Ethel Payne (George's daughter) in c. 1909. In c.1923, Tuckers sold the property to the Dunkley's.
