Statement of Significance

The place, for its building form and architectural characteristics,
makes a positive contribution to the streetscape. It is
representative of early suburban settlement within Maylands and
has historic associations with the development of Ferguson’s
foundry.

Physical Description

A hip roof house with a thrust half-timbered gable and half verandah carried on
turned posts with a lace frieze. The windows are double hung sashes with stucco
sills and scroll work under. The rear rooms are timber framed and weatherboard
clad. It has tuck pointed brick work with stucco and an iron roof.

History

A good example of a medium sized house built close to the railway and
representative of a reasonably common type in an authentic state. It is close to
Ferguson's foundry and is part of the estate developed after 1906.
