The site represents associations with the race Club and other sports in Kondut and demonstrate a way of life no longer practised.
In 1932, the Kondut Hall Committee held a sports day which included horse events. The Committee was later fined 2 guineas by the WA Turf Club, which had a state wide monopoly on horse racing. The event subsequently led to the formation of the Kondut Race Club, and horse race events were held twice a year until 1941, and the program ended for the duration of the war. The Club resumed in 1945, but only for 3 years. During that time, the Kondut Cup was a well known event, and special trains came from Perth, with 143 well known bookmakers on site at one event. 20 years after the club ended, the final activity donated the remaining funds to the Meckering earthquake Fund in 1968.
AB (Bert) Craig was a leading figure in the Kondut Race Club, for the duration of the club's existance.
The April race program was followed by a Grand Ball at the Kondut Hall.
The race track encircled the football ground which had the cricket pitch within it. Trots held at the venue too.
