The Denison Bowling Club has social significance given its role as a centre of sport and entertainment in the district.

Physical Description

1996
The bowling club rooms is a single storey building with a low pitched asbestos roof. The building is clad with fibro and has aluminium windows. The bowling greens are located to the east of the clubrooms.
2004
The bowling club and grounds continues to be maintained by the owners.

History

At the instigation of John Porteus and Jack Pickering in 1962, a bowling club was formed. The club was officially opened on November 23 1962. Originally the club had only a bough shed and black greens made of recycled motor tyres. Over the years the greens have been improved and expanded.
