History

The whole suburb was in effect a public housing precinct. In the 1998 MI McKenzie Way, Tassell Street, and part of Broun Avenue are identified as having good examples. Embleton appeared very quickly during the 1959-1963 period and thus there is a uniformity of styles. Information suggests that many of the formerly State Housing residences in Embleton have since been sold into private ownership so it is unclear how many of the original dwellings remain.
