The War Memorial has social value for the local community commemorating those local citizens who participated in each World War.
War Memorial is in a concrete paved setting in the forecourt of the Wagin Memorial Swimming Pool.
The memorial comprises a square granite podium mounted on a two-tiered, stepped base. Inscriptions are on the facets of the podium. The west face of the podium commemorates those who died in World War I and the south face commemorates those who died in World War II. The podium is capped with a rock-faced pediment above each facet which is crowed by a tall cylindrical spire with a domed top.
A war memorial was erected in 1947, to commemorate those killed from Wagin in two World Wars. The memorial consists of a broken granite pillar, broken to symbolise the lives broken and destroyed by war.1 The names of those killed are listed on the memorial.
The War Memorial was originally erected in Piesse Park, but was moved to its present position when the Wagin Swimming Pool was constructed in 1967.
