An interesting early bungalow creating an streetscape with a number of other old homes in the immediate vicinity - part of an important streetscape in South Cottesloe.
Dwelling has been demolished.
Edwardian bungalow, 1908-10, in tuckpointed red brick with a gabled iron roof and dropped pitch
hipped roof to the z shaped verandah. This was probably once bullnosed as the bricks between the roof
and the eaves which would have been behind the top board of the bullnose have not been tuckpointed.
The gables are half timbered with pebbledash between the boards. Gablets to east and west have
louvred slats for ventilation. There is slatting under the eaves for the same reason. The verandah posts
are turned. There is no frieze. Diamond-paned leaded windows fill the lower section of the triple
casement windows. Stained glass in the small upper lights. The front door is Victorian without side lights.
The short chimney is of brick with brick corbelling finished with two plump pots. A large two storey
extension with garages extends behind the house along Lillian Street. The front fence is of immaculate
white pickets, the side fence to Lillian Street is overgrown with ivy.
Integrity fair-good
Modifications none obvious
