Brick and tile construction with steel framed windows. Also planting some oak trees and roses. Former CWA rest rooms were built in 1940 and rebuilt in 1952.

Located in Crowden Street - used as a school room in the late 1940s then later as a Deli. Now a private residence.

Statement of Significance

The place is historically and aesthetically significant for it's architectural characteristics and important as the original chapel and quarters built in 1905 and 1908 and socially significant for their association with the Tambellup Community.

Physical Description

The church hall is a simple design reminiscent of the Victorian Carpenter Gothic style, although constructed from corrugated iron with only the front entry porch in weatherboardPlaque on the dorr reads; "Former Methodist Church Tambellup. First Service in 1901. Church erected in 1905. Regular worship and Sunday School from 1907-1975".

History

Dr Lovegrove began practise in Tambellup in 1911, having received his medical training in Liverpool and was a member of the British Medical Assiation. Lovegrove was the first President of Tambellup's Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Society formed in 1912. He was also the first scout master of Tambellup.
