Constructed from 1930, Constructed from 1890
Nanekine was an early grazing property of the Morrison family - the location of the homestead being influenced by the presence of water along what is now the Nanekine Road. From the outset, travellers were accommodated at the homestead. In the early 1920s the property formed part of a larger holding of about 70,000 acres owned by McCallum Smith. Later in the 1920s, Nanekine was acquired by Fred Mickey, from South Australia, who started with 20 acres of cleared land. Nanekine is not a typical homestead for the Morawa District. The area does not contain many large homesteads as the majority were built post World War II. Initial buildings were usually of corrugated iron and only temporary until such time as permanent homes were constructed. Apart from being developed from one of the earliest buildings in the district, Nanekine was well known for its gardens, which were established in early days. There was both a large vegetable garden, which gave the property a reputation for being self-supporting, and also a decorative garden, with roses and wisteria. Nanekine has both social and historical significance.
There are three buildings in the group, which are visible from Nanekine Road - the main homestead, an attached two storey store with partly sunk cellar and a detached school house. The road was once closer to the buildings, on the other side of a row of trees which currently line the road. The main building is rectangular in plan, with a hipped roof and a concrete floored verandah all around. The original building, more than 100 years old is incorporated in this structure, with some stone walls 46cm thick. The majority of the building is constructed in concrete, rendered, with a brick pattern around the base of the verandah, flecked elsewhere. Windows are wood frame, recessed, in groups of three frames with double hinged sashes either side of a fixed pane. Ceilings are of plaster, battened. A stone wall with pipe rail surrounds the building. The attached two storey store is rectangular in plan and is linked by a covered walkway to the main building. This store has its lower floor approximately 2 m below the ground, to form a walk-in cellar, with highlight windows on three sides. The upper floor is reached by both internal steps from the walkway level and by external steps. The building is constructed of concrete, rendered, with a corrugated iron gable roof; windows are wood frame. The school house was constructed in the 1930s by Fred Mickey. It comprises a rectangular block of four rooms under a hipped roof with gablets with access from a full length verandah on one side. Construction materials are; concrete floor and walls, re-inforced with scrap steel, rendered; iron roof; wood frame windows, side hung, with unre-inforced concrete sills; hair plaster battened ceiling. All three buildings appear structurally sound with an absence of cracking. However, all are deteriorating - roof iron is almost totally gone from the school house and is starting to lift from the main building and store.
Integrity: The building group has a very high integrity. Modifications: Very few

When Gutha had a larger population the hall was an important social centre for the settlement. Although still occasionally used, the building faces an uncertain future.
Stands in a bush setting within the Gutha townsite, which once accommodated a small settlement. Rectilinear in plan, under a gable roof, the building has a rendered pediment and battraces. There is a bronze plaque, 46cm x 31cm, on an inside brick wall, at the rear of the stage, donated by the Gutha Progress Association, with the following inscription: This plaque commemorates the memory of Pioneers and former Residents of Gutha at the "Back to Gutha" gathering on August 26th. 1978.
Integrity: The appearance of the hall from the road is as constructed, giving the building a degree of integrity despite additions and internal alterations. Modifications: Rear kitchen added; barbecue added (1987)

Constructed from 1966
The building was constructed during the mining boom of the mid 1960s and was the social centre of the Town. Open hours used to be 11 am to 11 pm but have now been reduced to a 4 pm closing time. This large single storeyed building is rectangular in plan, with one side facing the golf course and the other, bowling greens. The grounds are well kept with trees and other vegetation providing an attractive setting. There are two plaques as follows: 1 Matt enamel on brass, mounted on a wooden board, 40cm x 26cm, on the building, with the following inscription: This Morawa Golf and Bowling Club was opened by Hon. David Brand M.L.A. premier and Member for Greenough. On 6th August 1966. Monisgnor E. Bryan. N. C. Croot. Esq President Secretary 2 Mounted on a stone cairn, outside, visible from Club Road, with the following inscription: Jack and Marie O 'Dea in appreciation for your contribution to the gardens of the Morawa Golf and Bowling Club
Integrity: The form and character of the building remain largely unaltered, providing the building with a high integrity. Modifications: 1968 buggy rooms added; kitchen extended and modernised.

Constructed from 1955
The convent was associated with the adjoining Catholic School on Lot 176, which commenced in 1955 but was given a boost about 1966 when Western Mining Corporation impacted on the town. At its peak there were about 100 children in the Catholic School and over 400 in the State School. The adjoining school has now become a Telecentre and is also used for religious education. The convent has been unused for 10 years.
The building occupies a corner site and is L shaped in plan, with a kitchen and ablution wing and an accommodation wing. Although in good condition and certainly habitable, there were signs of forced entry at the time of inspection. There is a bronze plaque 38cm x 38cm, with the following inscription These buildings were blessed and opened by the Bishop of Geraldton The most Rev 'd A.J. Gummer D.D. 27th March 1955. Constructed from 1934
The building was constructed during the Depression times of the 1930s, so that expectant mothers could stay there from the country. It is an example of the community banding together to help those in need during hard times.
The building was originally constructed with full width front and rear verandahs, a large open space internally, with a smaller room in the SE corner for expectant mothers, plus a kitchen. The wall forming the small room has now been removed, to create one large open space. There is a brass plate, mounted on a Jarrah plaque 30 cm x 15 cm, with the following inscription: This room has been furnished by the Bush Nursing society of W.A. on the understanding that it shall be available for the accommodation of expectant and convalescent mothers. 2 2nd. March 1935.
Integrity: The building has high integrity, the front maintaining its original appearance. Modifications Rear Verandah filled in; internal wall removed

Constructed from 1958, Constructed from 1968
The Church of Christ community was very strong in Morawa, particularly during the 1960s when mining stimulated development of the town. A resident pastor tended the needs of both young and old. With a declining population and poor attendances the Church is now used by the Seventh Day Adventists.
A steel framed brick and tile building of rectilinear plan, with front porch; the timber floor is suspended, with vents under. There is a plaque of black and white marble, 46cm x 26cm, facing Dreghorn Street, with the following inscription: This building was erected to the Glory of God, and was officially opened by foundation members R. W. Barr, and G.A. Carslake on the 28th day of June 1958
Integrity: The building has a very high integrity with all original fabric intact. Modifications: Storeroom/front porch added 1968

Constructed from 1932, Constructed from 1963
Like the Catholic Church, St Davids was built during the hard times of the Depression years. Both churches were dedicated in 1933 ;and again both were built on to during the same period in the 1960s. The church is constructed from the same stone as the Catholic Church. It is a good example of a small Anglican Country Church.
The church sits on a spacious corner site, behind pine trees. The building is unpretentious with a simple rectilinear plan form; windows are generally small, of vertical proportion, arched. Behind the alter there is a taller stained glass window. The nave of the church is spanned by timber trusses. There is a foundation stone with the following inscription: A.M.D.G. This stone was laid by The Ven. C. Riley. MA. M. S., OBE. Archdeacon ofNortham The 19th Day of March, 1933. Bales Cohen and Bennett Architect R. A.Gamble Builder.
Integrity: The building has a very high integrity Modifications: Additions CI963, in same style and materials
