The place is important historically as the Roman Catholic church group in the town and socially significant through association with the Sister's of the Motor Mission and the Tambellup community.
Formerly Baptist Chapel built in 1904. The bricks were made loclly by SW Taylor. The church is rendered, has a corrugated iron roof and a separate bell tower (also of locally made rendered brick). The bell tower was built by a local builder, Mr Pedrocci in the 1970's). Priest's house built in the late 1960s and is a brick and tile residence.
Originally this church was a Baptist Chapel. Purchased by the Roman Catholic Church in 1910. Flat Rock's School Teacher's house was moved to Tambellup in the 1950's and used as a residence for the priest. After the new Presbytery was built, he building was used for meetings, morning tea etc. and is referred to as the 'Parish house'. The Motor Mission Convent was located where Lawrie and Janet Jamieson now live.
