Statement of Significance

This place is a representative example of an early shop and has historic value for its association with the development of the Maylands townsite, making a significant contribution to this streetscape.

Physical Description

A single storey shop, with attached house to the rear. The shop has the original shop front and an authentic glazed tile dado and awning.

History

An integral part of the historic town centre which contributes significantly to its streetscape value and is amongst the authentic elements. In the 1940s and 50s, it was used as a delicatessen with family accommodation at the rear of the shop. It was known as the "Ham & Beef Shop".
