11240 Moora Town Precinct (East)
The precinct represents the development of the Moora town and represents associations with generations of Moora people, engendering a sense of place. The place comprises streetscapes adn contributes to the signifcant character and identity of Moora.
During the Depression, the Government subsidised employed with a number of projects throughout the state, building dams and other public facilities. In 1934, the Moora Roads Board initiated a town beautification scheme which Premier Mitchell, inaugurated by planting the first tree. The first trees were planted in Gardiner Street by the sustenance workers.
