Statement of Significance

This place has aesthetic and historic significance as a remnant of pre gold boom residential development in Fremantle. The building is not highly intact and recent fabric is not significant.

Physical Description

Single storey rendered (ashlar effect) and Colorbond hipped roof house with a two storey building attached at the rear. The façade has a dropped verandah, with a portico style entrance onto turned posts and a timber balustrade above low stone walls (probably not original). The windows are six over six paned timber sash, the front door has a glass transom window.

History

Norfolk Street is named after the English county, as per Essex and Suffolk Streets. Restoration 1987 of cottage and blacksmith workshop by Temelcos Zambotti Architects. Currently (2002), Frichot & Frichot Barristers & Solicitors
