A fine example of boom time housing with its facade virtually intact. Makes a small streetscape with numbers 30, 32, 34.
An Edwardian "Queen Anne" bungalow circa 1910-14 of asymmetric plan set on a corner block almost opposite no 21 facing tree lined Congdon Street. Tuckpointed red brick walls are set on a random coursed limestone base. Diagonal bay window with diamond panes are casement style. The upper section is filled with coloured glass. The sill has a decorative scroll in stucco below. Mock stone quoins in stucco are found at the corners of the building. The iron roof is hipped with louvred gable above the bay window to the south-west and a plain gable to the south. The verandah roof is separate. Chimney stacks are tall in red brick with decorative stucco scrolls beneath the corbelling, terracotta roofpots. The front door has stained glass panels above and in the lights on either side. The small windows to the south have stained glass in both sections of the sash windows. The full length paired sash window/doors to the west are plain glass. The cement floored verandah has turned timber posts but no valance or filigree. A low front wall of ornamental brick with stuccoed piers appears to date from the same period.
Integrity intact Modifications small addition of toilet to rear
