6 or 8 mine shafts to a depth of anything from 10 to 40 feet deep.

History

The opals mined at the site and tons were exported to Germany to make buttons. Fred Manuel owned the farm at the time, and instigated a German man to mine the site. The opals which were mined were not of a sufficient quality, to be worth carrying on.
